Our stomachs naturally produce acid to digest the food we eat. Acid reflux also known as heartburn occurs when there is an over active acid production that backs up into the esophagus. This painful condition includes burning pain in the throat and chest, sour or acidy taste in the mouth, bloating, and nausea after eating.
